Choose Love

In her newest book of poetry The Burden of Light, Deena Metzger writes that we can find ourselves split between the “violent demands of our everyday life and the strange beauty of the spirit afar. I must choose beauty, no matter the cost in this life” she says.

Each day we can choose love and a grateful heart and to carry the light. Not forgetting things as they are in the world, nor the things that destroy us but holding, making safe space for courage.

Clarissa Pinkola Estes wrote in Women Who Run With the Wolves: “In my uttermost bones I know something, as do you. It is that there can be no despair when you remember why you came to Earth, who you serve, and who sent you here. In that spirit I hope your will write this on your wall: When a great ship is in the harbor and moored, it is safe, there can be no doubt. But that is not what great ships are built for”.
